There is no more straightforward way to say it, Nicole Eggert is fascinated by hackers and harassers. She regularly assists them, praises them, and works with them. She borrows their techniques, which has resulted in a Kansas woman obtaining a restraining order against Eggert for harassment.
Eggert has repeatedly referenced her thanks and appreciation of “Anonymous,” as in this tweet:
Alexandria Goddard’s Participation and History
As is evident above, Eggert has also solicited the participation of blogger Alexandria Goddard, who has used a number of anonymous and false identities on Twitter to harass the Baio family. Goddard was sued for defamation in the well reported Steubenville rape case. She repeatedly accused an individual of complicity or participation in the crime. He was never charged, and brought forth the civil complaint. Goddard settled the case, and later acknowledged in legalistic terms that she “never had any evidence of [his] direct involvement in the subsequent events of that night.” In short, that she fabricated a narrative without evidence, much as she has done with the Baios. Only now she attempts to avoid liability by doing so anonymously, which is a hallmark of Internet malevolence.
Eggert’s Friendship &Support from a Convicted & Jailed Hacker
Nicole Eggert has also become friends with Alberto Daniel Hill, a self-described hacker in Uruguay. Hill was arrested, convicted and jailed for compromising a hospital database, stealing the HIV+ status of a number of people (among other information), and extorting the government in an effort to secure payment in exchange for not publishing the information. He is the subject of a webpage from the Uruguayan Ministry of the Interior (translated). Hill has professed his innocence, and claims to be out on bail pending an appeal of his case, although the truth of that is unknown. What is known is that Hill is attempting to use his case to increase his visibility through a wide ranging if amateurish PR effort.
The real question here, however, has nothing to do with these various criminals, but why on earth is Nicole Eggert so fascinated with them? Why does she go out of her way to profess her admiration for them? Why does she assist them with publicity and credibility, when they have made clear their intention to use threats and malevolence to accomplish their goals? In the case of Hill, why has she induced his participation in threats and harassment directed against the Baio family and those who support them?
The simplest answer is most likely. She associates with people who behave the same way she does.
